Open Wheel Driver Chris Sheil visits Dutch Creek Elementary

By Don Holbrook

Littleton, Colorado (April 8, 2011) - Colorado National Speedway Super Modified race car driver Chris Sheil visited the students at Dutch Creek Elementary School in Littleton, Colorado Friday for the “Race to Read” program at the school.

Sheil, an Englewood Racing Association (ERA) Super Modified competitor at Colorado National Speedway and a Two-time Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association (RMMRA) Driver Champion talked to the students on how important reading/writing/math and getting an education is and how it is related to racing.  During the talk to the students, Chris answered questions from the students about the two race cars that he brought along (Super Modified race car and Midget race car) that he competes in here in Colorado and throughout the country.

"This is the fourth time that we have gone to the school to promote education and racing.  The kids really get engaged and enjoy seeing a race car in person.  It is an amazing feeling to be able to connect with these students.  They are smart kids and ask some very creative questions. I love to give back to the community and the “Race to Read” program is great way to do so."
